Vanna White Kicks-Off Wheel 0f Fortune Ticket Sales in KY

logo

LOUISVILLE, KY (September 26, 2019) -- Vanna White spent Monday in Louisville KY interacting with fan and doing media interviews on behalf of the Kentucky Lottery. She was there to kick off sales of the new $5 Wheel of Fortune Scratch-off ticket.

White attended what the Kentucky Lottery billed as “Kentucky’s Largest Wheel Watch Party”. She was set to watch that night’s episode of Wheel on a Jumbotron in the YUM! Center Arena, along with a small group of VIP second-chance winners in a private suite.

In a preview of her visit, White said in the Louisville Courier-Journal, "I've never done this before, watched the show with a room full of fans. This will be my first time to experience and be a part of a large watch party, and I think it is really going to be nice to see how people react to what happens on the show that night."

Fans lined up for an hour and a half to meet the legendary TV personality and get photos and autographs, and she answered questions during a Q&A session hosted by Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie.

White also spent an hour doing a large number of five-minute one-on-one interviews with media from across the state. In the 24 hours surrounding the event, White’s appearance landed more than 40 radio and TV news stories seen or heard by a Neilsen audience of 846,000, generating a calculated publicity value in excess of $42,000.

White was one of 200 women selected to audition for “Wheel of Fortune" in 1982, selected by show creator Merv Griffin because he liked her chemistry with host Pat Sajak. In 1992, she was recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as "Television's Most Frequent Clapper". Averaging 720 claps per episode, she puts her hands together more than 28,800 times per season.

Vana White

We were so excited to welcome one of the most recognizable TV personalities in America to Kentucky,” said Delacenserie. “The fan response to Vanna was fantastic, and our players really enjoyed spending time with her.

Vanna’s appearance and the accompanying publicity has led our Wheel ticket to be a fantastic seller,” he said. Delacenserie added the Wheel of Fortune Scratch-off has been the Kentucky Lottery’s top-selling instant ticket since it first hit the market two weeks ago, outselling even $20 and $30 price-point Scratch-offs.

As Lottery proceeds in Kentucky fund college scholarship and grant programs, if all tickets in the run are sold, approximately $21 million will be generated to help students in the Commonwealth pursue their higher education efforts.

CT Lottery Launches Refreshed, User-Friendly Website

logo

HARTFORD, Connecticut September 26, 2019) -- Journal Inquirer reports the Connecticut Lottery Corp. has launched a refurbished website in order to modernize its look and feel, but says much more work would be required if state lawmakers are able to come to an agreement regarding online lottery sales.

The refreshed website that offers a more user-friendly experience throughout all electronic devices debuted Wednesday.

The new look features a cleaner, more streamlined homepage with easy-to-find winning numbers and game details.

But when it comes to online lottery sales, there still would be much more work to do, starting with legislators approving its legalization.

JUMBO

The Department of Consumer Protection — the lottery’s regulating agency — then would have to develop rules and regulations and a vendor would have to be selected to assist with offering online games, lottery spokeswoman Tara Chozet said.

“There are various modifications and improvements that would occur by having online sales,” she said, including a coordinated marketing effort for both retail and online, and further monitoring of responsible gambling that likely would be needed with online sales.

A series of gambling-related bills, including those authorizing sports gambling and online lottery sales, failed to gain much momentum last legislative session, with both proposals dying without a vote.

One bill considered would have authorized the online sale of lottery draw games, leading to potentially tens of millions of dollars of new revenue.

The state also could see additional dollars if a large prize were won online because the lottery would not have to pay a commission to the store in which a traditional ticket were purchased.

Currently, there are 10 state that allow purchasing lottery tickets online.

CT Lottery Press Release

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the CT Lottery will debut a refreshed website that offers an optimized, user-friendly browsing experience across all devices. The new look will feature a clean and streamlined homepage with easy-to-find winning numbers, game details and updated corporate information. Users can still access the CT Lottery’s website by visiting www.ctlottery.org.

The Growing Market of eSports Betting

GRAZ, Austria (September 27, 2019) -- The eSports market has boomed in recent years and more and more viewers watched some of the best gamers in the world playing their favourite games. Nearly 300 million eSport viewers worldwide are expected to reach 2022 by 2020, an enormous increase from 58 million in 2012. By 2022, 347 million people are expected to be occasional eSports viewers. The potential of this relatively new market should not be underestimated, especially with regard to sports betting.

Classified Advertisement
CIBELAE

An example of the great popularity of eSports is the ESL One in Germany with 20,000 tickets sold and over 25 million viewers online. Despite these numbers, Europe ranks only second in 2019, as measured by the share of eSports viewers. It is estimated that more than half of the world's eSports viewers and enthusiasts are in the Asia-Pacific region.

This steadily growing market also holds incredible potential for eSports betting, which is generally divided into two main categories: Cash Bets and Skin Bets ("skins" are virtual objects that can be used in video games, usually for cosmetic purposes). , Players swap skins via betting sites and use them as virtual casino tokens. While skin betting was the most popular of the two, recent controversies and legal challenges have put pressure on the skin betting market and paved the way for cash betting.

Global bets on eSports betting are steadily rising from $ 315 million in 2015 to $ 7 billion in 2018, which is expected to double by 2020. The base projection for the number of customers using eSports in 2020 is 6.5 million.

In the games itself, League of Legends was the most popular eSports game on the gambling market, with about 38 percent of the total eSportsbook bet on LoL. It follows Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) with 29 percent of the betting volume (2016).

As the fast-paced eSports phenomenon continues to gather pace, the interface between gaming and sports provides an innovative wave of branding opportunities that provide content and activations to millions around the world. In this context, one of the biggest challenges will be legislation. Being an emerging industry, in many countries there are no clear rules for the regulation of the eSports gambling sector, especially in the case of age checks and skin gambling checks.

An emerging trend for the game industry will also be to present to players an eSportsbook offering that differs from traditional sports betting. Because this new player demographics can not be compared to traditional sports weather, new concepts need to be developed to meet the needs of eSports betting.

The sportsbook offering of ARLAND's new software, Bookmaker NEXT, already supports a number of eSports, such as Dota 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike. In the near future, ARLAND will also be working on new sports betting concepts for eSports fans.

"We deeply regret the decision of Ms von Strombeck, but wish her all the best for her personal and professional future," says Peter Steiner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lotto24 AG. "As the CEO of Lotto24 AG, Ms von Strombeck was decisive in shaping the company over the past seven years and making it the undisputed market leader in Germany's online lotto brokerage sector."

One day I’m going to be a statistics teacher,” said Jalease. “I want to be a role model for other women around the world.

Arkansas voters approved a ballot measure to establish the Lottery in November 2008. The Academic Challenge Scholarship provides tuition assistance to students at every state university and two-year college, both public and private.

Applicants include new high school graduates, students already enrolled in college and non-traditional students who wish to further their education. The scholarship can also be combined with other financial aid programs.

In 10 years of operation, $2.9 billion has been awarded in prizes to players. Additionally, retailer commissions are approximately $257 million, and state and federal tax revenue has exceeded $128 million.

We are proud of the fact that 92 cents of every dollar of Lottery revenue goes to scholarships, prizes and retailer commissions,” said Woosley. “And, we know that our work is worthwhile when we hear stories like that of Jalease Lofton.

The numbers continue to grow annually. Fiscal year 2019 set records in scholarship proceeds – $98.4 million – and sales of more than $516,236,823, which is $16 million higher than the previous fiscal year.

We owe a great deal of thanks to Arkansans who have embraced the mission of the Lottery and support it by playing responsibly,” said Woosley. “Our winners include those who won $50 on a scratch-off ticket to those who won life-changing million-dollar jackpots. We’re proud to have winners in different ways.
