Australias Official Lotteries Awarded 5 Star Ratings for
Franchising
BRISBANE, Australia (August 20,
2019) -- Australias official lotteries by NSW Lotteries, Tatts, Golden
Casket and SA Lotteries have been awarded 5 star ratings by independent
franchise intelligence company FRANdata.
The recognition puts the Lott among
the nations top-rated franchise systems.
The Lott offers Australias
official lottery games from NSW Lotteries, Golden Casket, Tatts and SA
Lotteries. This includes games like Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday
Lotto, Oz Lotto, Powerball and Instant Scratch-Its, which give customers the
chance to dream big every day.
Under FRANdatas rating system,
5 star brands need to demonstrate a high level of transparency and an
outstanding overall level of franchise performance across seven key
categories.
These include system performance,
franchisee financial performance, franchisee engagement and satisfaction,
franchisor training and support, lender relations, and compliance and
assurance.

FRANdata CEO Darryn McAuliffe said
the review team was particularly impressed with the range of new initiatives
introduced by the Lott to support the financial performance of its
franchisees.
The review revealed a high
level of investment in the professional development of the Lotts
leadership and head office teams. This not only helps maintain a clear culture
of compliance but also equips them to provide optimal levels of support to
their franchisees, he said.
The Lott is a good example
of what we call listening franchises. The good systems are
listening to their franchisees, who are listening to their customers and are
then refining and improving the model. In this way, they are continually
enhancing the franchise system and addressing the financial performance of the
franchisees.
The Lott General Manager Lotteries
Retail Antony Moore said the Lott was committed to developing a strong retail
franchise network and proud to have attained 5 star ratings by FRANdata.
To deliver an unparalleled
customer experience, we need a robust retail franchise network underpinned by
world-class marketing, training and business support.
That is why we work closely
with our retailers, the vast majority of whom are small business owners, to
help them reach their full potential and deliver a winning experience to our
customers.
We want to offer the games
Australians know and love, from the retailers people know and
trust.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019,
the Lott paid more than $3.2 billion in prizes to its players. This included
372 division one winners who pocketed more than $1.14 billion.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019,
Australias Official Lotteries contributed more than $1.1 billion via
state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as
hospitals, schools and sporting groups.

Louisiana Lottery Launches Two New Orleans Saints Branded Scratch-off
Games with Second-Chance Game-Day Experiences and Autographed Merchandise
Prizes
BATON ROUGE, LA (August 13, 2019) --
To mark its 11th consecutive annual partnership with the New Orleans Saints,
the Louisiana Lottery will launch not one but two scratch-off games featuring
the teams logos, instant-win cash prizes and second-chance drawings for
game-day experiences and autographed merchandise. The $5 We Are the Saints with
top prizes of $100,000 and the $2 New Orleans SAINTS with top prizes of $20,000
both launch Aug. 13.
Each game features three distinct
scenes designed with metallic gold ink. Nonwinnng tickets from either game can
be entered in any $10 combination into a series of three second-chance
drawings.
For 10 years, our New Orleans
Saints scratch-offs have been some of the most popular $5 games we offer, so we
decided to give fans even more of a good thing by creating an additional game
at the $2 price point, said Lottery President Rose Hudson.
Projected revenue from these games is $10.2 million, 35 percent of
which directly benefits K-12 public education.
Besides thousands in cash prizes,
the games include three second-chance drawings, which involve a total of 38
winners. The type of experiences to be given away depends upon the entry
period.
Participants in the first
second-chance drawing, whose entries are received by Sept. 30, will be eligible
to win one of three 2019 Saints Suite Access Prize Packages to the Nov. 10 game
against Atlanta, including four tickets to the exclusive Louisiana Lottery 300
level suite, which includes a visit by a former Saints player.
One lucky name will also be drawn to
win the 2019 Saints Tunnel Team Prize Package for the winner and three friends
to attend the Nov. 10 game, including four Plaza Club Sideline tickets, four
entertainment passes allowing the winner and guests pregame field access, one
parking pass, one-night hotel accommodations (two rooms) and $500 spending
cash.
Entries received from Oct. 1 through
Oct. 28 will be entered into the next second-chance drawing for one of
five 2019 Saints Suite Access Prize Packages to the Dec. 8 game versus San
Francisco, including four tickets to the Louisiana Lottery 400 level suite with
a visit from a Saints alumni.
Also during the second drawing, one
winner will be selected to receive a 2019 Saints Deluxe Prize Package,
including four Plaza Club Sideline tickets, four pregame field passes to the
Dec. 8 game, one-night hotel accommodations (two rooms), limo transportation to
and from the game accompanied by a former Saints player, four authentic Saints
jerseys and $500 spending cash.
Entries received from Oct. 29 until
the to-be-announced deadline will be entered into the third second-chance
drawing for one Saints 2020 Season Prize Package, including four Plaza Sideline
tickets for the 2020 football season, four pregame field passes for every home
game, a 2020 parking pass and a VIP tour of the Saints practice facility. The
winner and three guests will receive round-trip limo service to the facility in
Metairie (or overnight accommodations if the distance exceeds 75 miles) where
they will also view a team practice and have lunch in the team cafeteria.
During the first and second
drawings, additional entries will be drawn to receive an official autographed
Saints jersey, football or helmet. Twelve winners will be randomly chosen
during the first drawing and 15 during the second.
The Louisiana Lottery has
done it again with their 2019 team-branded scratch-offs creating the
kind of anticipation and excitement our fans have come to expect,
said New Orleans Saints President Dennis Lauscha. Just like the
Saints, they just keep raising the bar for fan entertainment!
To enter the second-chance drawings,
players should complete the information on the back of $10 worth of non-winning
$2 New Orleans Saints and/or $5 We Are The Saints scratch-off tickets and mail
them together in an envelope (no larger than 4.5" by 9.5") to the drawing
address printed on the back of the ticket. Entries must contain at least $10
worth of non-winning tickets from either game to be eligible. Players can enter
as many times as they wish, but each complete entry should be mailed in a
separate envelope.
The Lottery printed 1.8 million $2
New Orleans Saints tickets, and approximate overall odds of winning an instant
prize on the game are 1 in 4.45. There were 1.32 million $5 We Are the Saints
tickets printed with approximate overall odds of winning a prize at 1 in
3.88.
Complete game and second-chance
drawing entry rules can be found on the Lottery's website,
www.louisianalottery.com/saints.
Lottery ticket purchasers and second-chance drawing entrants must be at least
21 years of age. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help is
available by calling 1-877-770-7867. For security purposes, the Lottery

Industry Plan Could Create a Billion Dollar Gaming
Sector
Press Release: New Zealand
Game Developers Association
NEW ZEALAND (August 19, 2019) -- A
new report says that an industry development plan for New Zealands
interactive media and games sector could create a billion dollar export
industry by 2024. Introducing a coordinated plan that invests in emerging
talent and allows interactive media to access existing screen industry
programmes would create hundreds of hi-tech and creative industry jobs.
The Interactive Aotearoa report was
launched by Minister of Economic Development Hon Phil Twyford at Wellington
games studio PikPok today.
 |
Produced by the New Zealand Game
Developers Association with support from NZTech, WeCreate and government
agencies, the report looks at the social, educational and economic benefits of
interactive media such as games, apps, simulations and virtual reality.
Interactive media combines
two of New Zealands strengths - our tech sector and creative
industries, says Cassandra Gray, chairperson of the New Zealand Game
Developers Association. Our aspirational, yet achievable, goal is to
see New Zealand become a billion dollar exporter of interactive media, sitting
alongside our successful film and software sectors. Weve made a strong
start, but our sector is still young and growing.
The report identified interactive
games as the greatest potential creator of new jobs and export earnings. While
New Zealands games industry earned over $143 million in 2018, the global
market is worth $258 billion. Gaining one percent of the global video games
market would generate $258 million in new exports. The sector has grown 39 per
cent annually for the last six years, and if an industry plan and government
support maintained this growth rate then the industry would be worth one
billion dollars in 2024.
Forty years ago our film
industry partnered with the Government and we now have a multi-billion dollar
screen industry. Twenty years ago our music industry did the same. Our
interactive and games industry has reached the stage where it has the
capability, skills and international opportunity to similarly contribute
significant jobs, exports and social benefits," says Gray.
 |
The skills developed in interactive
entertainment are also being applied to education, mental health and business
apps. For instance, fifty nine percent of New Zealand children have used
educational games at school.
The report also covers the rise of
eSports, indie games, virtual and augmented reality, serious games, and
Māori and indigenous interactive storytelling.
Interactive media currently slips
through the cracks of Government culture, media and innovation policy. To
coordinate the industry plan the report calls for the establishment of the New
Zealand Interactive Commission, modelled on existing creative industries
agencies the music and film commissions, and an interactive innovation fund.
The report also recommends that Government screen and cultural programmes be
modernised to include interactive media.
Globally, several countries have
recently introduced interactive industry programmes. Finland, with a population
similar to New Zealand, has an interactive sector worth $3.8 billion annually -
25 times the size of ours - as the result of government support.
Many of the reports
recommendations are already being implemented and will be discussed at the New
Zealand Game Developers Conference next month at Te Papa. The Game Developers
Association has already increased the support package for its Kiwi Game Starter
startup challenge and is introducing a student day, mentoring programme and an
industry skills working group.

Aotearoa report from: www.nzgda.com.
