Gaming
Laboratories International (GLI®) Release Draft Event Wagering Technical
Standard for Industry-Wide Comment
Significant Regulator,
Operator, and Supplier Demand for Sports Betting Technical Standard Culminates
After a Year-Long Process of Analysis and Collaboration
LAKEWOOD, NJ (June 5, 2018)
After more than a year of working closely with domestic and
international gaming stakeholders, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®)
announced that it has released its longawaited draft technical standard
specifically for event-wagering operations. GLI-33: Event Wagering Systems is a technical standard
produced by GLI for the purpose of providing independent technical analysis
and/or certifications to wagering industry stakeholders wishing to represent
compliance for their wagering operations and systems.
GLI Responds to Significant
Demand
More than 12 months ago, U.S. state
regulators, sports betting operators, sovereign tribal nations, lotteries, and
industry suppliers across the country began asking GLI to establish a clear and
cohesive technical standard for sports/event wagering systems designed to help
them regulate and/or implement legal wagering on sports and other events.
Responding to this stakeholder demand, GLI spent approximately one-year
formulating GLI-33, which was submitted for industry-wide comment via an
advisory notice on May 18, 2018.
GLI Leverages Decades of Global
Sports Betting Experience
Leveraging its decades of extensive
global sports/event wagering experience throughout markets in Australia,
Europe, Africa, Latin America, Canada, and the U.S. (Nevada), GLIs global
team of sports betting experts has been working closely with industry
stakeholders across the country to help prepare them for the expansion of
regulated sports betting in the U.S. These types of industry collaborations are
immeasurably valuable for the industry as they allow interested parties to
guide technical standardization across the industry.
As the first and most
experienced independent event-wagering testing and certification lab in the
world, we used our nearly 30 years of global sports-wagering experience to
develop GLI-33, the worlds first event-wagering standard that can be
effectively deployed by jurisdictions across the U.S. to ensure the integrity
of the countrys dramatically expanding sports betting
opportunities, stated James Maida, President and CEO of GLI.
We are gratified that so
many gaming authorities, operators, and industry suppliers across the country
reached out to GLI as their essential technical partner to cooperate in
developing this new technical standard for event wagering, Maida
added. Thanks to this extensive and close collaborative effort, the
draft GLI-33 standard offers a starting point for clear guidance regarding
betting integrity and a way to move forward responsibly in the wake of the U.S.
Supreme Courts recent ruling striking down the Professional and Amateur
Sports Protection Act (PASPA). We encourage broad participation as we refine
this extensive document into a useful template for the U.S.
market.
GLI-33 Public Comment Period
Concludes June 8, 2018
The draft of GLI-33, which is
available at http://www.gaminglabs.com/gli-standards, is being provided to
gaming and lottery regulators, suppliers, test laboratories, operators,
industry trade associations, and other key stakeholders for review and comment
for a limited time. Written comments are encouraged and can be submitted to GLI
upon review of the
linked PDF copy of GLI-33 provided here. The formal comment
period began with the issuance of the GLI-33 Advisory on May 18, 2018, and
concludes in three weeks from that date, on June 8, 2018. Comments should be
submitted to the GLI Compliance mailbox at

marketing model directly with a provincial lottery center.
During the 2018 World Cup in June
and July, AGTech will partner with Jilin Provincial Sports Lottery Center to
launch a marketing campaign to enhance the brand awareness of China Sports
Lottery and raise the popularity of its sports lottery products, thereby
helping to expand its customer base and increase the volume of lottery sales.
In this campaign, AGTech will leverage Alipay's robust user base to engage with
participants through simple but fun engagement activities. Users of the Alipay
app in Jilin will have the chance to win sports lottery coupons worth millions

John Sun, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of AGTech, said: "In the first quarter of this year, we
partnered with China Sports Lottery to successfully develop and launch a
national innovative marketing campaign which integrated various online and
offline resources to enhance users' experience across channels. The campaign
transformed the traditional marketing model into a multi-faceted and highly
effective campaign, playing an important role in promoting Sports Lottery's
brand and attracting new users, fully demonstrating that marketing campaigns
are a core part in enhancing the lottery industry. On the back of this success,
we are excited to partner with Jilin Provincial Sports Lottery Center, our
first such collaboration with a provincial sports lottery center, to deliver
differentiated marketing in this digital age. By leveraging the enormous
presence of Ant Financial's payment platform, Alipay, and various online and
offline resources, we are confident that the campaign we launch together with
Jilin Provincial Sports Lottery Center will help enhance the Sports Lottery's
brand exposure, increase the popularity of its sports lottery products and
create an innovative marketing model for the industry."
Mr. Sun added: "The partnership
also signals our ability to integrate the Company's longstanding experience and
deep expertise in the lottery industry and Alibaba Group and Ant Financial's
vast portfolio of resources to help accelerate innovation in the lottery
industry. As the leader in the lottery industry, we are committed to
proactively innovating and continuously improving the lottery experience. We

further solidify the Company's industry leading position and contribute to the
healthy development of the lottery industry."
