York Lottery & Video Gaming Smash Records with $9.69 Billion in Sales/Net
Total Lottery and VLT
revenue up 5.8 percent over 2014/15
ALBANY, N.Y. (April 22, 2016) -- The
New York State Gaming Commission announced today that New York Lottery sales
and Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) net win in Fiscal Year 2015/16 broke all
previous years records with a combined total of $9.69 billion in revenue.
All profits go directly to Aid to Education for New Yorks public schools
meaning the New York Lottery earned a record total of $3.3 billion for
distribution to all school districts in the state.
On all metrics, the New
York Lottery continues to be the most profitable lottery on the continent and
underscores the success of New Yorks smart gaming policies,
said Commission Executive Director Robert Williams.
This is great news for
taxpayers and students across the state, as it provides New Yorkers a fun and
exciting way to give back to their communities.
Traditional lottery games grew by
6.2 percent with a record $7.7 billion in sales in FY 2015/16 over the previous
years $7.25 billion. This encompasses draw games such as Mega Millions,
Powerball, Cash 4 Life, Lotto, Numbers, Win 4, Take Five, Pick 10, Quick Draw,
and Instant Games. Draw game sales grew to $3.79 billion in FY 2015/16 from
$3.49 billion in 2014/15, an increase of 8.6 percent. Instant games, known as
scratch-offs grew to $3.91 billion in FY 2015/16 from $3.76 billion
in 2014/15, an increase of 4 percent.
We thank the Lotterys
17,000 retailers, including thousands of small, independent businesses across
the state, for their continued hard work and support in achieving this new
record, said Executive Director Williams.
VLT net win shot up 4.3 percent with
a record $1.98 billion in FY 2015/16 over 2014/15s $1.90 billion. Resorts
World Casino New York City and Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway both
brought in approximately $30 million more over the prior year (a 3.7 percent
and 5.7 percent increase, respectively).
Upstate VLT facilities grew by a
total of $21 million, highlighted by Batavia Downs 10.7 percent growth
over the prior year.
A district-by-district breakdown of
the Aid to Education distribution can be found here.
New York Lottery and VLT revenue is
distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to
distribute other state aid to education. It takes into account both a school
districts size and its income level; larger, lower-income school
districts receive proportionately larger shares of Lottery school funding. The
Lotterys contribution represents 14 percent of total state education aid
to local school districts.

Murphy USA All-In-One Display Leads to Double-Digit Sales
ADAIR, Iowa (April 25, 2016) --
Steven Desautels of Murphy USA is a leader on the retail side of lottery
industry, regularly speaking at LaFleurs Conferences and lottery sales meetings
sharing his insight for increasing lottery sales at retail.
"You may say it's just a nickel
(commission), but lottery customers never buy just a single $1 lottery ticket
and leave. They buy $5 to $10 worth of lottery tickets, plus many other
of our c-store items" explains Desautels. Desautels (AKA "Nickels") has
been managing the company's Lottery & General Merchandise categories since
November 2011 and his positive year over year sales results have definitely
helped Murphy USA become one of the fastest growing U.S. convenience store
Desautels has been working with
Schafer Systems Inc. since 2013. He was looking for a lottery display he
could use in his all his stores across the U.S. He found that nearly all
states had different ways of displaying their lottery products that made it
difficult for Murphy to maintain a consistent feel for their stores across
He was also wanting to increase the
number of facings he sold and wanted some lighting options to draw more
attention to the display in the prime space he had available.
The "All-In-One" unit fits the
bill. Schafer designed a coloured Ticket Menu Board that features LED
lights for longevity and low electrical use.
This sits on top of a lightweight
literature holder that holds up to 12 play slips or brochures. A
lightweight, reduced height and depth Promoter(R) was designed to attach to the
back of the display or sit elsewhere in the store.
Installs of the new 36-Game
All-In-One started in late 2015. To date, all stores using the All-In-One have
seen year-over-year double-digit instant sales increases and some of the
highest instant ticket sales in the entire Murphy USA chain.
With the unit being on display at
the Murphy USA Sales Manager convention in January, leadership is excited about
the new display options.
More installs are happening every
week, which is anticipated to help create to the highest lottery sales year
ever for Murphy USA!

Hometown Favourite Hoosier Lotto Just Got
Hoosier Lotto with +PLUS
offers better odds, more ways to win
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (April
24, 2016) - An automatic chance to multiply winnings with every play, larger
jackpots, better odds and the potential to win up to an additional $1 million
are all features of the new Hoosier Lotto with +PLUS, an enhancement of the
Hoosier Lottery's original lotto game that launches today.
As of today, Hoosier Lotto is
now Hoosier Lotto with +PLUS at a cost of $2 per play. Drawings will remain on
Wedn esday and Saturday nights, with sales ending at 10:39 p.m. EDT.
"We are always thinking
strategically about the long-term health of our games and identifying
improvements that keep our games fresh and exciting for our players," said
Sarah M. Taylor, executive director of the Hoosier Lottery.
"Hoosier Lotto has been a
hometown favorite of our players for many years, and we hope they enjoy the
improved Hoosier Lotto, which offers more excitement for our players with
built-in multipliers and more ways to win."
Made in Indiana. Played in
Indeed, since the Hoosier Lotto game
launched in 1994, players have won prizes totaling more than $1.2 BILLION
across all 92 counties, including 137 jackpot wins.
The game's prize payout, features
and $1 price tag have remained largely static over the decades, without any
significant enhancements until now.
No need to ask for a multiplier.
It is automatic, not extra! The new built-in multiplier will allow
winners to automatically multiply ALL non-jackpot cash winnings up to 10 times.
A multiplier number of 1X, 2X, 3X,
5X or 10X will print with every play on a ticket. All non-jackpot cash prizes
won on that play will be automatically multiplied by that number.
Better odds are here! The newer
version offers better odds because of a reduction in the field of numbers
from which to choose.
Six numbers will be drawn from a
field of 1 to 46, which is an improvement over the old field of 1 to 48.
Jackpot odds will improve from 1 in 12.3 million to 1 in 9.4 million. Overall
odds will improve from 1 in 6.4 to 1 in 6.
Look for larger
payouts! Thanks to the new built-in multiplier feature and
+PLUS prize structure, players can expect to see both larger average jackpots
and larger non-jackpot payouts.
Ask for the +PLUS feature for
another chance to win! Adding the optional +PLUS feature for an extra
dollar per play will improve the overall odds even further, nearly doubling
them from 1 in 6 to 1 in 3.24.
Players who add the +PLUS option get
a chance to match their Lotto numbers to a second set of six +PLUS numbers
drawn with every Hoosier Lotto drawing.

led to a record transfer Tuesday of more than $200 million of earnings for
education in North Carolina.
The transfer, totaling $200,796,933,

Our 10th year is shaping up
to be another record-breaking year, said Alice Garland, executive

select group of iGaming CEOs at the iGaming Executive Conference at the iGaming
Super Show in Amsterdam (June 8th), where he will engage in dialogue with key
executives from the global regulated iGaming community.
According to Freeman; Sports
betting has never been more popular in America than it is today. The illegal
sports betting market is running rampant. AGA is leading the conversation
around a new approach to sports betting that enhances consumer protections,
strengthens the integrity of games and recognises fans desire for greater
engagement with sports.
Co-located at the worlds
largest iGaming event, the iGaming Super Show, the iGaming Executive Conference
is the premier gathering of leading global iGaming CEOs.
This unique conference provides a
unique think tank environment for CEOs, COOs and CTOs in the
industry, where frank discussion and inspirational TED-like sessions facilitate
the progression of the interactive gaming industry and promote an environment
conducive to contemplating the long-term development of the sector.
The iGaming Executive Conference
operates a policy of approved guest attendance, and thus provides an
opportunity for the industry leadership to speak frankly in a non-public forum.
The iGaming Super Show is taking
place on the 7th 10th June 2016 at the RAI in Amsterdam. The event is
free to attend for all delegates.

Lessons to be Learned from Failures at Gala Coral
BIRMINGHAM, U.K. (April 27, 2016) --
The Commission is calling on gambling operators to learn lessons from its
investigations into failings at the Gala Coral Group Ltd.
As part of a regulatory settlement,
which has concluded the Commissions investigations, Gala Coral Group Ltd
has agreed to forfeit more than £846,000 and take steps to improve its
anti-money laundering and social responsibility processes.
The investigation related to the way
two of Gala Coral Group Ltds divisions (Coral Racing Limited and Gala
Interactive) handled its relationship with a man who was jailed for three years
after admitting to stealing £800,000 from a vulnerable adult.
The man had been a retail customer
of Gala Coral Group since 2012 and was an online customer between January 2014
and January 2015.
As part of the settlement, Gala
Coral has agreed to pay £846,600 to the mans victim as this was the
total amount he lost through gambling with the operator.
All operators are advised to read
Gala Coral Group: Failures in anti-money laundering and social responsibility
controls public statement for further details and lessons to be learned.
Richard Watson, Programme Director
at the Commission, said: We expect the industry will learn the lessons
from this case, as it is their responsibility to keep crime out of gambling and
protect vulnerable people from harm.
He added: We know that Gala
Coral have reflected heavily on this case and have assured us of actions they
have taken to address the failings. Operators must proactively monitor
customers to keep gambling safe and free from crime.

Conference Program Update: Book Today and Take Part in the
AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands (April
22, 2014) --The next few months promise to be decisive in shaping the
Netherlands' gaming regime for the foreseeable future. Ahead of the expected
adoption of the Dutch remote gaming bill, secondary legislation is already
being drawn up, while the Netherlands Gaming Authority continues to flesh out
its licensing process.
Now that the plenary debate on the
Dutch remote gaming bill has been rescheduled to May 17, 18, or 19, this year's
edition of our annual
in Holland Conference will take place in the immediate aftermath of the
Lower House's vote: on June 7-8, 2016 at the RAI Exhibition and
Convention Center in Amsterdam.
Due to the support of both
government coalition parties, the current bill is all but guaranteed to pass
the Lower House. The Gaming in Holland Conference will thus be the first and
foremost event to discuss the bill's contents and progress with national and
international industry insiders, as well as regulators and legal experts. (It
should be noted that the postponement of the debate has been caused by
scheduling conflicts, rather than a lack of political support for the bill.)

May 31, we will reschedule our conference to the fall. If it turns out you will
