Manager for the Asian region.
Based in Singapore, Michael will be
responsible for account development in Singapore, Vietnam and Taiwan, where his

Systems product portfolio. He will report to Lai Fatt Chiang, GTECH General
Manager for Casino Systems in Asia.
Michael has six years
experience in all aspects of the gaming industry in Asia, including a position
with Weike Singapore, as well as a Sales Manager role with IGT Asia.
Over the past 24 months, we
have increased our presence in Asia, and continue to do so with Michaels
appointment. As our new Sales Manager in Asia, he will focus on developing and

Scientific Games Announce Proposed Private Offering of $375.0
Million of Senior Subordinated Notes Due 2021

Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) ("Scientific Games") today announced that its
wholly owned subsidiary, Scientific Games International, Inc. ("SGI"), intends,
subject to market and other conditions, to offer $375.0 million of senior
subordinated notes due 2021 (the "2021 Notes") in a private offering. The
2021 Notes will be offered only to qualified institutional buyers in accordance
with Rule 144A and to non-U.S. Persons under Regulation S under the Securities
Act of 1933, as amended (the "Securities Act"), and will be guaranteed by

net proceeds of the 2021 Notes offering (i) to redeem or repurchase all of

Lotterywest CEO Jan Stewart to Retire at the End of the

(Camelot) today announced UK National Lottery ticket sales of
£6,730.9 million for the 2013/14 financial year the second-highest
annual total since The National Lottery launched in 1994.
In the year ending 31 March 2014,
Camelot raised £1,751.1 million¹ more than £33 million
each and every week and almost £70 per UK household for National
Lottery Good Causes. Camelot has now raised over £31 billion for these
projects, with more than 430,000 individual awards made across the UK - the
equivalent of 138 National Lottery-funded projects in every UK postcode
district. Camelot also paid out £3,636.6 million in prizes to players
during the year, taking the total amount of prize money paid to date to over
£51 billion and the total number of lottery millionaires created so far
to more than 3,500.
Buoyed by a very strong second six
months as a result of the changes to reinvigorate Lotto which have succeeded in
turning around the flagship games long-term sales decline, total National
Lottery sales in 2013/14 were the second-highest ever. They came very close to
matching the exceptional figure of £6,977.9 million set in Olympics year
and almost certainly would have done so had there been a repeat of the
phenomenal, one-off sales boosts that the EuroMillions game enjoyed in
2013/14 saw significantly fewer
EuroMillions Rollovers than the year before, with only half as many draws
offering jackpots of over £100 million, and there was no extended roll
series beyond 10 rolls, compared with three the previous year which, on their
own, delivered almost £200 million in additional sales in 2012/13.
EuroMillions also received a never-to-be-repeated boost in 2012/13 from London
2012, with the special 100 UK Millionaires Raffle held on the night of the

New Legislation Aims to Place Tighter Controls on which Sports are
Appropriate for Betting Activities
SYDNEY, NSW, Australia (May 19,
2014) -- The NSW Government has recently introduced legislation to Parliament
to combat match fixing in sport. The legislation, known as the Racing
Administration Amendment (Sports Betting National Operational Model) Bill 2014,
aims to provide a framework for betting agencies to enter into integrity
agreements with sports controlling bodies.
The Bill establishes a framework to
strengthen the capacity of sporting bodies to recognise and manage integrity
risks associated with the betting that takes place on their sport.
Approved controlling bodies will now
be given the power to choose the types of bets that are available for their
sport, or whether any betting occurs at all.
Fines for breaches
A betting agency breaching the
legislation will receive a fine of up to $11,000. An individual who breaches
the legislation will receive a $5,500 fine or 12 months imprisonment or
The legislation will support a
national model which underpins the National Policy on Match Fixing in Sport
which was agreed to by all Australian Sports Ministers in 2011.
The agreements will:
- include integrity measures used to prevent,
investigate and assist in the prosecution of match fixing or corrupt
- provide financial returns to the sports involved;
- include information sharing arrangements and a
consultation process for new sporting events and bet types
Sports controlling bodies will also
have a right to veto betting on their sport if it is deemed in the public
interest to do so.
In September, 2012, the Government
introduced the first legislation of its type in Australia outlawing match
fixing, with penalties of up to 10 years jail for offenders.

GBGC: Gambling Indices Reach Record Highs
GBGC has completed its annual
revision of the two gambling indices.
CASTLETOWN, Isle of Man (May 21,
2014) -- The two GBGC indices,
GBGC 50 and iGBGC, track the share price movements of the 50 largest gaming
companies and ten largest internet gambling companies respectively. To be
included in the GBGC 50 index, the companies have to derive at least 35% of
revenues from gambling activities
At the beginning of 2014 both
indices reached the highest levels in their nine-year history. On 2 January
2014, the GBGC 50 reached 237.1 points (both indices were based at 100 at the
beginning of 2005), 60% more than a year ago. iGBGC reached 406.8 points, 42%
more than a year ago. Both indices have now shown growth for two consecutive
In early 2014 the total gambling
market cap (adjusted for the percentage of revenues from gambling) of the 50
largest companies reached US$351bn, or 46% more than in the previous year. The
gambling market cap ranged from US$793m for the smallest company, Penn National
Gaming, to US$56bn for the leader, Sands China.
The top ten gambling companies are
the same as last year, albeit in a slightly different order. The top four
positions are the same as in 2013: Sand China, followed by its parent company
Las Vegas Sands, Galaxy Entertainment and Wynn Macau. The order has changed
slightly for the remainder of the top 10, and Melco Crown Entertainment is now
in the fifth position. Crown Limited, retaining tenth position, is the only
company in the top ten that is not predominantly focused on Asia, even though
Asian gamblers account for an important part of its revenues.
The changes in the composition of
the GBGC 50 index in 2014 reflect the mergers and acquisitions and spin-offs,
which took place in the previous year.

The new entrants replaced WMS
Industries, which was acquired by Scientific Games Corp., SHFL Entertainment,
bought by Bally Technologies and Ameristar, which merged with Pinnacle
Entertainment. Great Canadian Gaming Corp. was also pushed out of the index,
now taking 54th place, while Kingston Financial Group is now 56th.
During 2013 the best performer in
the GBGC 50 index was Melco International Development, whose share price
increased by 209% in the period from January 2013 to January 2014. The worst
performer was Echo Entertainment Group, whose shares lost 26% of their value as
the company lost its monopoly position in Sydney to Crown, starting in 2019.
Its share price in the coming months will depend on whether they secure a
licence for a new casino in Brisbane.
The total gambling market cap of the
ten leading igaming companies has reached US$15.4bn, 75% more than in the
previous year. To be included in the iGBGC index, the companies have to be
predominantly Internet based.
Amaya could be quoted as an
exception to this rule, because the company started off in land-based gambling,
but are quickly growing their online operations.
The gambling market cap of the
components ranges from US$193m for Bet-at-Home.com to US$5.7bn for
In 2014 all the components of the
iGBGC index remained the same, with only their order changing. Playtech
remained the leader, followed by Betfair (4th in 2013) and Bwin.Party Digital
Entertainment (2nd in 2013). Betsson, 3rd in 2013, is now 4th, followed by
Unibet, which retained its position.
All companies in the iGBGC index
showed an increase in the share price during 2013. Playtech was the best
performer in iGBGC, with share price up 72.6% in January 2014 compared to a
year ago. Betssons share price was up only 1.7% during the year, making
it the worst performer of the interactive index.

IOC Looks Forward to Further Cooperation with Norsk

International Olympic Committee (IOC) was visiting
Norsk Tipping to discuss
the fight against match-fixing in sport.
