state-owned company which belongs to the System of Public Companies (SEP, for
its Spanish) directly depending on CORFO (The Chilean Economic Development
Agency). From 1989, it becomes a corporation, with CORFO (99%) and the
Fisco (The Public Tax Administration) (1%) being its two shareholders. Its
line of business is expressly set forth under Law No 18.851, and it is related
to lottery games, sports pools wagers and other drawings of random numbers
authorized by law. Due to its legal nature as a state-owned company, with
100% participation of the government, the budget and financing standards
applied to state-owned companies will be also applied to Polla Chilena, reason
why its action is strictly within the context of the financial programming of
the Public Sector, in accordance with the economic policy formulations given by
the government. One of the most significant supports for the management of
this successful company is the professionalism and excellence of the 132
employees, out of which 18 are executives and middle management, 51 are
professional and 63 are administrative; all of which, are headed by a Board
appointed by the President of the Republic. The Polla Chilena Board of
Directors is composed of 7 members chaired by Veronica Montellano Cantuarias.
The companys executive management is headed by the general manager,
Santiago Gonzalez Larrain, followed by the assistant manager, Cesar Gomez
Viveros. It is impossible not to mention, as key players of the Polla
Chilena management, its more than 2 thousand agents who integrate the
companys Official Agent Network, which through history has been the
visible face of this institution. The great challenge of those who are part of
the Polla Chilena structure is to consolidate the company as an excellence
model, both at public and private levels, through its business and
institutional management, as well as its charitable character. Similarly, Polla
Chilena de Beneficencia continues and will continue working on its
modernization and leadership projects in the entertainment industry of gaming.
